Need for the Award
Cycling has long been a powerful, practical, and sustainable solution for urban commuting, playing a key role in mitigating climate change while reducing pollution and congestion in our cities.
However, widespread adoption faces significant hurdles—public perception, policy neglect, inadequate infrastructure, and prevailing misconceptions continue to hold it back.
Yet, in recent years, cycling has seen a resurgence— as a mode of transport as well as a passion for recreation, sport, tourism, adventure, and even business, especially in the post-pandemic world.
We believe that individuals and institutions driving this momentum deserve recognition. By honoring their contributions, we hope to inspire more people to embrace cycling—whether for commuting, sports, entrepreneurship, innovation, social impact, or investing in better cycling infrastructure—creating a future where cycling is truly an integral part of urban life.

Our Vision
Our vision for the North East Cycling Awards is to transform it into a nationally recognized event that celebrates and honors the incredible contributions of individuals and organizations within India’s cycling community.
As we expand beyond the North Eastern India, we aim to create a dynamic platform where cyclists, enthusiasts, policymakers, and innovators from across the country can come together—sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and inspiring more people to embrace cycling. Our dream is to make this an annual event, hosted in different cities across India, each year spotlighting a new region’s cycling culture and achievements.
We understand that this ambitious vision will take time, dedication, and collective effort. However, we are fully committed to making it a reality. By strengthening this movement, we believe the North East Cycling Awards can serve as a catalyst for change, promoting cycling as a viable mode of transport, a sport, an industry, and a pathway to a more sustainable and livable future for all.
